A Cleansing ‘Diet’ for Stomach Hurts

I find that my post: Does Your Stomach Always Hurt?  gets a lot of hits.  I feel for all of you as my stomach was the source of a lot of agony for me over the years.

GO back and re-read that post but I thought I would also add this: It was my modified ‘kjude’ way of de-stressing my stomach without a lot of headache and at the same time giving myself a good, easy to follow cleanse.

  1. I am a coffee/whipped cream one cup a day girl – I admit it
  2. But AFTER that – the first thing you eat ALL morning long are fruits.  Any fruit that you like, that you tolerate. (Diabetics or those watching sugar? Stick to Lemons, Grapefruits, Pineapple and an occasional apple). Strawberries, Pineapple, Melons, Grapes, Oranges, ANY of the berries – Eat a Banana, which is the most filling fruit if you are just starving!
(A really great way to do all this is throw all your fruits on hand into a blender, add Stevia if you want it sweeter (which won’t raise insulin levels) and enjoy! You can even toss in a TBS or 2 of GROUND flaxseed for fiber and Omega’s.  You still need good oils for optimum health.
  3. For lunch, make a salad or eat raw veggies.  Greens, cauliflower, broccoli, green peppers, spinach and toss with olive oil and squeeze a lemon over it all.
  4. Afternoon snack: grab some whole almonds, walnuts, pecans.
  5. Dinner:  bake some fish or chicken or have another protein source – either with steamed veggies (with REAL butter on them) or another salad. Even allow yourself a bit-o-cheese.
  • Eating this way does several things:  Your stomach stays calmer because you aren’t food combining.  You are cleansing because fruits are very easy to digest and move through your system fast.
  • You have more energy because you aren’t eating foods that weigh you down
  • You are staying away from a lot of grains which can upset the stomach
  • Your heaviest meal does mean the one with protein; so eat it before 6-7 p.m.

Take a good digestive enzyme and a pro-biotic; refer to to above post.  However; eating raw fruits and veggies give you lots of enzymes.

For dessert?  Drink some Kefir, flavored (wonderful for adding Pro-Biotics that your intestines absorb) or use Plain and add in POM juice for a really satisfying and VERY healthy treat!!
